» Killer7 and me - My rant thoughts
Weelll, it all started when I was given Killer7 from a close friend, a few months ago. Yeah, I'm totally late getting into Killer7. Better late than never! Anyway, I'll be honest - at first I wasn't overly excited to play it (mainly because I was playing GH:Rt80s at the time *cough*), that, and thought I'd suck at it. Actually, this friend of mine showed me parts of the game a year ago (I think it was?), and the only thing I could remember was the unique style and graphics, but most of all - Dan mwahaha. Moving along, I decided to give it a try one day, so I booted it up and started playing...
My initial reaction was mixed, I guess - ranging from 'whoa this is pretty cool!', to 'Ehh wtf this is so random'. Not to mention there're so many 'wtf?' moments in the game that leave you there clueless for a bit...til you suddenly click and catch on lol. That's just one thing that makes this game awesome, it really does draw the player in. Ya rly. I won't go into the story, mainly because I think that's open to interpretation. Anyway, in short, I got major major addicted! Killer7 has got to have one of the most screwed up, twisted, yet compelling stories I've ever seen in a game. The unique game style and cell-shaded graphics are highlights of this game, too. Don't let the 'rail-shooter' aspect put you off - any action game junkie will like Killer7. I was extremely impressed and kicked myself for doubting it, and not playing it sooner! orz
Anyhow, there were times of frustration, I must admit *cough*Timer Smile*cough*, times of sadness...and a whole lot of randomness. Oh, and Dan takes the 'Badass of the year' award, in my opinion XD! Garcie and Dan would have to be my favourites, followed by...the rest of the Killer7 :p Ulmeyda freaked the hell outta me the first time I fought him. Now I know how Iwazaru feels about afros? Nah it was more the sound Ulmeyda makes every time he flings his icky tentacles (I think they are? XD) around, that freaked me out. Creepy. The ending was sad, for me. Probably because I guess I got attached to the characters (as you do). And I'm talking about the end of Smile, not the epilogue. Poor Garcie! Poor Dan! And Con's scene was pretty harsh, too. So...eventually I ended up beating Normal mode, and went on to start Killer8 pretty much straight after hahah...man, I was surprised I remembered what to do, where to go, which personality to use, etc etc - as there's no hints in Killer8. Eep. I haven't cleared it yet, I'm only up to the first part of Encounter. So far so good.
Actually, after I cleared the game for the first time and was left staring at the screen in disbelief that it was all over, I felt...compelled to create something about this brilliant game. I felt even more eager to make something dedicated to Killer7 after seeing and even reading about how underrated the game is. So, after ranting about Killer7 in my LJ and ranting about it to some mates, I felt like making a fansite. Random eh? And voila, here you have it :p I gave it my all and put all my effort into making this, all for the love of the game mwahahahaa!! I thought that making this fansite would cure my addiction??, or at least make me not so obsessed about the game, but quite the opposite happened though - it's actually made me even more addicted to Killer7!
So er yeah, there you have it :p That's my rant over! If you haven't played Killer7 yet, go and do so, now! :D
