Quick Turn:

If you're in a pinch or need some room, you can quickly change directions to evade. While running simply press Δ (PS2) to quickly turn 180 degrees and evade. If you use X to run forward, you can still do a quick turn by pressing the down button on the directional pad, while running.

Down Attack:

Aim at a downed or crawling type Heaven Smile and fire. Instead of firing a bullet, the persona will do a special attack.

Counter-attack:

While aiming at the enemy, press Ο just as it's about to attack you. You'll see a slight flash too, which indicates when you should press Ο. (I just press circle whenever I see they're about to grab me, which just happens to be the same time I see the flash.)

Head lock-on and critical lock-on:

Enemies die in one hit if you shoot their critical spots. Don't press Δ for auto lock-on once you scan for enemies. All you have to do is simply scan enemies and it'll automatically lock on to either their heads or critical spots, depending on which of these abilities your selected persona has at the time. Note that Critical lock-on is only obtainable at level 5 for all the personalities except Kaede and Con, who get the critical lock-on ability at level 4. Garcian and Harman do not level up, so they don't get any of these abilities.

» Special Abilities

Each persona has their own specific special ability, which when needed, can be used by pressing [] (PS2) or Y (GC). A few of the personalities have more than one ability, that usually can only be used at a specific time. For abilities such as Charge shot, every time a charge shot is fired, depending on what level it is, a certain amount of thin blood will be consumed. The same applies to other certain special abilities.

Detailed information about special abilities can be found on the Killer7 character page.

» Game Over

If a persona is killed during gameplay, it isn't game over - you can either retrieve them with Garcian and revive them via a TV located in every Harman's room, or instead of selecting Garcian, choose a different persona and continue playing. However, the fallen persona cannot be selected until he/she is revived. It's only game over if Garcian gets killed. If this happens then you'll have to load a game save to continue.
